The only case I've seen a creature with cell eyes that I felt had a sufficient "impression" was Drew980's "Wingle" species.

In Spore you can indeed do a lot with them but in terms of realism they won't appear so well. Plus, I honestly find it hard to take them seriously outside of a joke adventure or a comedic cameo appearance. But that's just picky me.

Well of course, in Spore as long as your organic thing has a mouth and eyes you can do basically anything.

Of course the choice is always up to you. I might just be too picky with creatures in adventures :P

No offense, but if you're making an adventure that doesn't have silly overtones I recommend you don't use this creature or that other one with the cell eyes. I just find creatures with cell eyes conflicting with serious tones.
