Well, actually, I heard in a video or something that he made those aliens because that's what he thinks what actual aliens would look like. Really strange dinosaur-like creatures.

Yeah his aliens are pretty weird and he probably did make them look weird because of that. But, we don't do what aliens would really look like so aliens may look pretty weird. (all I know that aliens won't look like they came from Earth lol)
