Description

?Landfall is one of our most successful colonies today but back then it was home to the first planetside on foot battle of the second Grox War. The Grox showed up out of nowhere and ripped one of our colony ships straight out of the sky. Most of those people were civilians. Luckily, the other colony ship was able to warp out as the IDF ships began to work their magic. Our carrier wasted no time in throwing her fists up, unfurling her guns and launching every fighter and drone available. The Pod Hoppers thought we?d get to sit back and watch the show but sure enough, we were called to action. Vehicle pods, weapons and supply pods, and trooper pods were dropped in swarms around the crash site. We were trusted to protect the civilians until backup could arrive. As soon as my pod hit the ground streams of plasma and laser were bathing my drop zone in fire and laser light. I was pinned with no plan of action. I was down to my last mag when a Thrasher tore through the smoke, guns boring holes through the Grox infantry.?

The Type XX-17 Thrasher Fast Assault Vehicle is one of the IDF's primary ground vehicles and an integral part of a mechanized infantry unit, known for its scouting and reconnaissance abilities, the Thrasher has been a part of the IDF's armored vehicle fleet since the closing days of the Grox War. They?re highly mobile, have all-wheel-drive, all-wheel-steering, and as such are four-wheeled all-terrain, all weather vehicles capable of going over any obstacle without difficulty. Under the hood, they feature saline and solar actuators as a source of power to convert any grade of water into hydrogen on the fly, meaning as long as there?s a source of water, the vehicle will never stop running. Though Thrashers look unwieldly or fragile, they are anything but. These vehicles are designed to be easily converted to fit the physiology of any species of operator and are exceedingly easy to drive. As for fragile, they boast a frame made up of a mix of titanium alloy and carbon fibre nanotubing with massive plates of high fidelity, low weight armor that the IDF is famous for. Offensively, these vehicles boast a passenger mounted automatic turret as well as a roof mounted anti-infantry quad gun.
