Description

The Watcher Astronomicon several data entries on the Servitor races that worship Oedon. One of which is the Amygdhalas, the most physically robust of them all. It is said among the Servitors that the Amygdhalas once worshipped a different Elder God, but the allure of Oedon?s blood converted their whole race. They now act as grand shepherds who watch over and protect the Children of Oedon against their enemies.

The forms of the Amygdhalas are that of titanic arthopoid-like creatures, with several spindly yet powerful sets of multi-jointed arms, a lengthy, almost emaciated body, and a large bulbous head covered in latticed structures with a multitude of eyes peering from within.

When under attack by any who attacked them (whether indiscriminately or not), the Amygdhalas were mighty war titans in battle. They could obliterate whole ranks of eldritch soldiers with one sweep of their arms or leap great distances (surprising given their size) to evade incoming artillery. The vile liquids spewed from their tendril-filled orifices could melt the flesh of the hardest materials. And their eyes could concentrate energies to fire powerful beams of light with the same destructive power as graviton lasers.

During the Eldritch Wars, the Amygdhalas never actively fought against the races of our galaxy. Rather, all of Oedon?s worshippers did not attempt to destroy or conquer like so many of the other Servitor races. They sought to instead spread the usage and worship of Oedon?s blood, preferring to coerce races into joining them under Oedon through benign (and unintentionally disastrous) means.
