Description

Creation.

Transformation.

Stability.

Decay.

That is the order of things, as the laws of nature decree it. It is evident everywhere. A seed serves as Creation, the source of potential for what will grow. When the seed sprouts, that is Transformation. The change from a seed to a flower. Then, there is Stability. The plant lives, becoming a part of its ecosystem. Finally, Decay. Whether from age or by another creature, the plant dies. But its remains become the base for new Creation. Such is the Pattern, ever repeating.

At some point, someone, or something, decided that this was the order according to which existence should work. It didn?t happen by happenstance. The Pattern was woven within the fabric of the galaxy from its creation. And to maintain the order, watchers were created. The Titans.

Though creatures of great power and insight of the galaxy?s workings, they are not omniscient. Whether they are even sapient, who is to say. What we do know is that when the Pattern is threatened, they will do what they can to steer it back on track. On a small scale, such as with plants, there is no need for corrections. Minor deviations there will not threaten the system, and are thus below the watchers? attention.

When the Pattern is threatened on a large scale, such as galactic, that is when the watchers intervene. Usually a small action is enough, nudging a loose stone to create an avalanche, granting a creature a part of Titanic power to topple dangers to the Pattern. The Titans do not intervene directly. They can?t, for their watch over the galaxy is not done via sight, but via dreams. They dream in an eternal sleep, deep within the Isle of Gods.

Sometimes, however, they?ll find that small actions are not enough. When the galaxy had remained on the phase of Stability for too long, a state that threatened to nullify the Pattern, the four Titans decided to intervene via proxy. For that end, they sent forth a pebble all the way from the Isle of Gods.

When this pebble reached the mortal world, it broke, and from the pieces the representative creatures of the Titans went out to affect the galaxy. To restore the Titanic Pattern.

Sure enough, the age of undying Stability was brought to the ruination of Decay. Then, Creation triumphed over Decay, bringing light to the galaxy. But Creation is a spark allowed to linger for only so long, and thus, Transformation was set to cleanse the galaxy, and start a new age.

From then, the last representative of the Titans was to bring about a new era of Stability, one that would then naturally give way to new Decay and so on, without the Titans? further interference. Their representatives would have served their purpose, and been returned to the Titanic essence on the Isle of Gods.

But one of the representatives did not want to return.

There is a weakness to the Titans? vast knowledge of the galaxy. They can nudge things to bring about their desired outcome, as their connection to the galaxy allows for a great degree of foresight regarding the future. But that?s their limit. They can only predict using information of their own galaxy.

The representative of Creation learned of this weakness, and sought to use an agent from beyond the galaxy. With their help, the representative went on to usher in a new phase of Creation, replacing the phase of Stability. The Titanic Pattern was broken by one of their very creations.

But the Pattern always seeks to correct itself. It saw that Creation would create its own undoing, and thus the age of Creation was full of conflict. For this end, it also granted providence to the old representative of Decay, and so the two forces met in battle once again.

The battle hurt the galaxy to its very core, damage felt all the way in the Isle of Gods. For the first time, the Titans themselves woke from their slumber, set out to reset the Pattern.

But Creation was ready, having planted the seed for their victory long ago.

Or so they thought.

The Titan lore keeps getting more and more juicier, damn. I'm not going to make any theories yet since I'd just make a fool of myself, but I definitely have some ideas about this certain "representative." Unless I am totally wrong, of course.
