Description

[Planet Imperium: Omni-Imperial Palace - Past Midnight]

"YOU KNEW ABOUT THIS! I know you do, you insensitive monster! I just lost my granddaughter?the purest of all my son's children! She was FLAWLESS! PERFECT!" screamed the old surisin, whose lower torso was entirely cybernetic, his mechanical spider legs clacking against the floor with every slight movement.

"And it is precisely because she was 'flawless' that it had to be her. All of you loved her so dearly, and now that she's 'gone,' that pain will drive you to desperation?to places you've never dared venture before. Dark thoughts, madness, and obsession will fester within your hearts, and your grief will bring you closer and closer to the grand finale. This is all part of the Big Picture, sonny boy," said the mysterious figure in black, leaning casually against one of the hallway's many pillars, grinning mischievously as he watched the elderly surisin struggle to contain his rage.

The old surisin's fists shook with barely suppressed fury. "You mean to tell me you've known all this time that she would be taken from us?" He clenched his mandibles, glaring at the hooded figure. "Why didn't you say anything?! Why didn't you warn me?!"

The figure sighed, shaking his head in dismay. "Oh, come now?how many times must we repeat this little song and dance? You know perfectly well why I didn't say a word: because this was meant to happen. Of everyone in this wretched omniverse, you should know better than anyone that defying destiny is NOT YOUR PLACE!" The figure's words echoed down the hallway, causing the very air to shiver in fear. Yet, the old surisin was not so easily frightened; his rage remained unabated. The figure seemed to sense this and smiled to himself. "Now, it's quite late, so why don't you get some rest, hmm? You've got a busy day ahead tomorrow?a funeral to prepare, a son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren to comfort."

"...How long must I continue playing this part? How much longer before the finale finally arrives?" asked the old surisin, his voice low and heavy with sorrow.

"Not long now. With all this hatred swirling about, 'he' is bound to come looking for you sooner rather than later. Just stay the course, and remember: all this ephemeral drivel will vanish into nothingness when the Zero State arrives," replied the hooded figure, vanishing into darkness as the old surisin stared down at the floor, deep in despair.

[White Convergence: Thronehall of the White Pantheon - ???]

"...I know you can hear me, Freedom. And I know you're too embittered to reply, so just listen. You did as I asked?well, commanded?but let's not quibble over semantics here. A new god has been born, and the throne of Euphony no longer gathers dust, thanks to you. I know surrendering so much Might wasn't easy, especially with your war against your control-freak twin rapidly approaching... but you owed me for your foolish attempt at stealing away 'our' proxy race. Did you truly believe 'we' would allow that unless it was predestined? Now, I'll leave you to your... preparations. I have better things to do than debrief a Prime Celestial?like deciding the perfect vantage point from which to enjoy the coming carnage."

Ooh, a rare Lavus POV. What a fascinating lore tidbit, great to see Lavus' reaction to losing Sbainaga, she really was the best thing in that family it seems. And a peek at some divine taunting.. very interesting.
