[ Kernel Station 07 ? "Lick of Lambda" ? Private Lounge ]

The group of Sentinels sat at a round table in the lounge of an orbital station, nursing cocktails as they listened to the desperate pleas of one of their own. Sighs of exasperation and faces buried in palms were commonplace, as this was not the first, second or even third time they had heard this request.

"Sarevox, each and every one of us here understands your wish for justice and vengeance," one of the Sentinels?a surisin named Zaintor?spoke up. "But without solid proof of her demise, we cannot initiate a vendetta. You know this! We have been over this a hundred times at least." He downed the rest of his drink in a single motion.

"You're wasting all of our time with these constant pleas, Vox," a second Sentinel said as they slammed their empty glass on the table. "I turned down a job from the Custodian Conglomerate to come all the way out here from the Trifecta, thinking it was something important! But instead it's the same tired request you've been whinging on about for the last five years!" She stood up from the table. "I get it, losing your partner and daughter in one go is some rough crap, but you know the code! No body, no evidence, no vendetta!" With that, she stormed out of the lounge. The other Sentinels sat in silence for a moment.

"Karyil was harsh, but not wrong," a third Sentinel, a drybonesin wearing a leather coat with a red scarf around his neck, said as he poured himself another drink. "Initiating a blood feud without anything solid to go on? It'd be a wild goose chase through the stars. You don't even know who killed her, only that you 'think' the Garden of Flesh is somehow involved."
